Too bad I don't have a plan to be anywhere else anytime soon.
One thing that should be minor but is bothersome is all the campaign signs for right-wing Colorado political candidates that dominate our neighborhood. Might as well have swastikas popping up out of the lawns.
My trip started with a couple of pleasant flights, to Baltimore, then Hartford. My aunt Susan's husband Keith picked me up at the airport in Connecticut, and drove us an hour North through Massachussetts and into New Hampshire along the Connecticut River. There, right on the East bank was the beautiful and cozy house they built fourteen years ago on two treed and grassy acres.
We had a sample for dinner of some of the great things Susan had cooked to fill the refrigerator and freezer for Keith during the week she would be gone to Ohio. We were up early, and hit the road around eight thirty for our twelve-hour drive through Vermont, New York, and into central Ohio.
